The Amazon is the great lung of the world, and is in Latin America. But recovering it, reducing deforestation and increasing forest cover must be a goal not only of Latin America but of the planet.

We are working on closing the fuel price stabilization fund’s deficit, which is too onerous at the moment and also sends a bad message. Our goal is not to subsidize fossil fuels, but to allocate resources to building new sources of energy and shifting to new modes of transportation. We are narrowing the deficit, and we expect to eliminate it by 2025.

Meanwhile, we are boosting renewable energy sources such as solar and wind on two scales. One is moving forward with the development of large solar parks, and the other involves working at the neighborhood level.
